Since I was a child, I fell in love with the internet and most that has spawned since its inception! There is one piece of technology that has a special place in my heart, and you’ve guessed it; Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology.
Why this technology you may ask? Well, that’s a complicated subject, but I believe that it essentially holds the key to transforming the global economy, governance on all levels, and even freedom from financial oppression.
Until recently, each and every blockchain has been their own “data silo” containing their own asset(s) with no ability to transfer between each chain/silo. During the early days of blockchain, this was not an issue but with the rise of Ethereum, and many other smart contract blockchains, having the ability to move assets from one chain to another is not only a logical approach but even a necessity for true decentralized finance (DeFi). …
With another week behind us and one week closer to the release of NOVA on the mainnet, let’s take a look at the past week’s DIP Testnet competition.
During week 4, we saw a shake up of the DIP winners, and in fact, a new address to the contest won almost the entire reward. While receiving less overall transactions when compared to some others, this new address did receive significantly more (testnet) NAS transfers. Even though the other top addresses received more transactions, no NAS was transferred, and this led to a lower overall Nebulas Rank. …
So, here we are, just weeks into 2019, and the scheduled mainnet release of Nebulas NOVA is quickly approaching!
For those who don’t know, the primary focus of Nebulas NOVA is Nebulas Rank (NR), Developer Incentive Protocol (DIP) and the Nebulas Blockchain Runtime Environment (NBRE) — all of which work in conjunction with one another; directly rewarding DApp developers via native on-chain incentives on the Nebulas blockchain. In other words, build a successful DApp and get rewarded — Simple!
So, let’s look at the data for weeks two and three:
IBM, Microsoft, Amazon and many of the top companies in the world have shown a deep interest in blockchain technology, and in fact, investing millions in the technology. However, there is one tech giant that has been quiet in this ever-growing field — Google!
While Google has been in the forefront of technological evolution, from searching the net back in the 90’s to modern age quantum computing, it’s been a sleeping giant when it comes to blockchain.
Well, it seems the sleeping giant has been awaken!
Forbes recently published an article about Google researcher, Allen Day, who has been quietly working on the tremendous task of making sense of blockchain data — something that only the blockchain project Nebulas.io …
Just a few short weeks ago, the Nebulas team announced its plan for the Nebulas version 2.0 code named NOVA. This revised roadmap and vision, consisting of Nebulas Rank(NR), Nebulas Blockchain Runtime Environment (NBRE) and Developer Incentive Protocol(DIP), will enter public beta by the end of 2018, and is scheduled to be publicly released in 2019. To commemorate this event and further detail their passion and vision, the Nebulas team has released a new website. So, let’s take a look at the new website and see how Nebulas Nova is an impressive triumph to the blockchain ecosystem!
Upon entering the website, users are greeted with a sea of colors to demonstrate the ocean of data in the blockchain world and how Nebulas will make sense of this chaotic environment. The primary focus of NOVA is to create a sustainable blockchain ecosystem through the use of Nebulas Rank, Nebulas Blockchain Runtime Environment and Developer Incentive Protocol. …
While many blockchain communities have gone into hiding, the Public Chain Technology Alliance (PCTA) is actively engaging with the entire blockchain community, openly talking about many difficult subjects, such as the recent crypto price drop.
Although some might call it a “futile effort,” in reality, the conscious efforts of the PCTA is not only cutting edge, it’s actually quite brilliant.
While many people are proclaiming that blockchain has no future and bitcoin is just a fad, in reality, the blockchain ecosystem simply grew too big, too fast.
You see, when any new system grows at exponential rates, issues are to be expected, and, in fact, the type of “backslide” that we’re now seeing with blockchain is a natural phase of evolution. No doubt, when a new ecosystem grows beyond the capacity to support itself, issues are a natural phenomena. …
Could public chain technology pave the roadmap for the future of blockchain? Well, many are now saying yes!
In fact, the recent introduction of the Public Chain Technology Alliance (PCTA) is an important step for Nebulas and other participating projects.
For those who do not know, PCTA acts as a bridge to assist blockchain projects to go from concept to creation while also bridging developers and communities together.
As one of the first projects joining PCTA, XMAX is a blockchain designed for the entertainment industry. However, rather than being just another DApp, XMAX requires its own blockchain. Instead of trying to create a blockchain from scratch, the team quickly realized that it would be too big of a development process for its engineers. They decided to utilize Nebulas’ technology, and this means that they are able to create their own blockchain simply by forking Nebulas’ existing code and modifying where needed. …
The past year has been a roller coaster ride in the blockchain world with spectacular highs and disheartening lows. While most who obtained tokens or coins during this timeline are solely interested in profitability (and there is nothing wrong with that), the bigger picture is missed or ignored by most. In fact, most people cannot distinguish blockchain from cryptocurrency; incorrectly considering them one in the same. In reality, cryptocurrency does not need blockchain nor does blockchain need cryptocurrency.
Today, the blockchain environment is an emotionally driven system with little thought to the long term and many projects have either slowed down development or even completely disappeared; taking a hefty toll, both mentally and financially, on the blockchain community. …
Recently I had the opportunity to talk with Honey Thakuria who is a full stack developer and blockchain enthusiast. A few short months ago, he developed and designed a blockchain powered decentralized petition system and released it on the Nebulas blockchain. When asked why a petition system, it was clear that his goal is to make the world a better place and one of the powerful tools to assist with this lofty goal is blockchain!
The development of this DApp also won him the award of best architecture design at the Accenture Hackathon. I invite you to watch the interview and get involved with his project whether it be to use petition system or assist with development to start making the world a better place for all of us. …
